Plan of Study

Introduction to the Graduate Program in Data Analysis Engineering

My major is Data Analytics Engineering. Data analysis refers to the process of analyzing and summarizing the data by analyzing the large amount of data collected by appropriate statistical analysis methods, extracting useful information and forming conclusions. This process is also a support process for the quality management system. In practice, data analysis can help people make judgments in order to take appropriate action. As far as our profession is concerned, I am particularly interested in knowledge about data mining. Data mining is a step in Knowledge-Discovery in Databases (KDD). Data mining generally refers to the process of searching for information hidden in it from a large amount of data through an algorithm. Data mining is often associated with computer science and achieves these goals through statistics, online analytical processing, intelligence retrieval, machine learning, expert systems (reliant on past rules of thumb), and pattern recognition. However, the data analysis engineering profession is a very good professional in this era of big data. And I am an international student. My country is currently in need of a large number of staff on data analysis. I think that choosing George Mason’s data analysis profession is the right decision.

My SMART academic goals

SMART Goal #1:

My first goal is to finish the GRE test. Why do I have to say that this is my goal? First of all, I’m not a formal George Mason student now. I’m studying pathway in INTO Mason. Second, when I graduated from INTO Mason, I need to submit my GRE score for my graduate student offer. In order to accomplish my goal. I will make a plan to prepare for GRE. The first step is to memorize the word, the back word is not to be interrupted, it is a repeated process, which is necessary. The second point is to do exercises. We can log on to the official website and apply for an account and repeat the practice. Through these plans, I think I can finish my goal in half a year.

SMART Goal #2:

The second goal is to enter the regular course, can take all the courses are the preview. Because I had procrastination, it was hard for me to do it. The benefit of this goal is that you can learn the knowledge you will learn in advance. The advantage is that when you are in class, you are already learning with a problem, not a strange knowledge. I have my plan to accomplish this goal. I’ll set up an alarm clock every day to urge me to preview. Then I’ll find a good friend of mine to urge me, and I’ll call him every day. I think I’ll finish my goal.

SMART Goal #3:

About the third goals. My third goal is a big goal. That is, my goal is to pass all of my courses in the entire postgraduate period. Although this goal is not a specific goal, it is one of my goals that must be accomplished. In my goal, I want to make a plan to achieve my goal. First I’ll make a timetable and arrange every week. Second I will take part in some extra activities in order to exercise my English ability. The third point is to finish my first two goals. I believe that through my efforts, I can achieve my goal.
